I just wanted to comment on the best individual player I've personally seen
this season -- Dean Fedorchuk of Alaska-Fairbanks. He was all over the ice vs.
North Dakota this past Sun.-Mon. in the Nanooks' two-game sweep here at UND. I
n fact, Fairbanks has quite a nice skating team that controls the puck well and
passes the puck well. Fedorchuk scored a hat trick, including the game-winner,
in UAF's 6-5 OT win here last Sunday and, though he didn't score on Monday, was
everywhere. I sincerely question whether he is even 5-foot-7 as listed on the
UAF roster; he looked more like 5-5 or 5-4. But he played big, as did the rest
of his team, including goalie Brian Fish, who made 41 saves (a UAF record 25 in
the second) period in the 5-3 win on Monday. Sioux will look to regroup vs.
Northern Michigan here in FRIGID (-16 right now) Grand Forks.

P.S. -- When I said best player, I should have said best forward or defenseman.
I have seen several excellent goaltending performances.
