Despite what our friends at the NHL try and tell us, hockey is not that well
known in most of the country.  The Hall of Fame will get much more press
coverage and noteriety for an award named for someone people in Texas and
California have heard of.  The John Mayasich Award sounds provincial and
small.  The Wayne Gretzky Award is n immediate association to hockey...even
for people who aren't hard core fans.
