Epilogue: Regards,
Dan Olsen

It has been widely documented about the ECACs success vs. HEA opponents this
season, but prior to this season, this was largely not the case.

Clarkson, however, with its win over UNH on Saturday has completed its second
straight undefeated regular season against the Hockey East. Last year,
Clarkson went 4-0-1 against Hockey East foes with its lone blemish being a tie
against BU in Boston (Clarkson would later lose to BU in the Eastern Regional,
but if Sportscenter can pad the stats so can I). Clarkson posted victories
over Maine, Providence (2), and BC (despite leaving their uniforms in Potsdam)
last year along with the tie of BU. This year, the Knights have established a
5-0-0 record vs. the HEA, with wins over BC (2), BU, Lowell, and UNH.

I don't know if this might be coincidence, but in the last 5 years, Clarkson
has managed to match up pretty well against the HEA while other ECAC teams
faltered. In 1992-93, they were one of only three teams to put a scar on
Maine's record, managing a tie in Orono (only to lose the following evening).
The only school that was consistently a problem was UNH, and Clarkson finally
took care of them Saturday.
