I expected to see a posting for this game beyond the score. I only saw
the game on satellite, and had to run to the junior game to get there on
time just as the BU game ended. Thank goodness for the time difference.
Believe it or not I *am* on this list because of an interest in college
hockey.

I was impressed with how well BU played despite the absence of Grier,
Bates, and Kelleher. Jack Parker put the best face possible on it by
saying that he was getting a couple of guys back from injury. BU kept
their poise despite facing a goaltender who was like a stone wall out
there. BU continued to hustle and play their game, knowing that more
chances would come. The large ice surface helped too.

Herlofsky is supposed to start tonight against Minnesota. It seems to me
Noble played very well. No comment was made about the pressure of coming
off an injury in such a big game. I know, according to the announcers,
that Herlofsky has lots of friends and family at this game. Is the
reason that BU is in this particular tournament a recruiting promise to
Herlofsky? Comments are solicited, especially from people who might have
some BU oriented insight on this.

I would also like to hear from those who were there what they thought of
the game and BU in particular. It was not much of a testimonial to see
Mariucci still virtually empty even at the end of the first game. Do
Gopher fans like hockey or just their team? When I lived in Boston I
took many opportunities to go see Northeastern, BC, and Harvard, even if
they were not playing BU. Now that I'm on the list I read all division I
game reports, not just BU.

P.S. Thanks to the people who have sent positive comments about the
junior reports.
