This probably also explains the rationale for sending Cornell
West instead of Vermont. Vermont wins one more comparison, but
Cornell wins the individual comparison with UVM. So I was wondering,
if Miami was seeded ahead of Cornell because of the individual
comparison, why wasn't Cornell kept East instead of UVM for the same
reason? But if the Miami/Cornell decision was based on RPI (.5772 for
Miami to .5700 for Cornell), then Vermont/Cornell also makes sense, as
Vermont (.5786) has the higher RPI.

But now it seems that the NC$$ has three different ways to
compare two teams: number of comparisons won, head-to-head comparison
and RPI. It would be nice to know in advance which of these will be
the deciding factor.

(Disclaimer: I'm certainly not complaining on Cornell's
behalf, after the gift they got last year, but I'd like to feel that
the seeding process is somewhat predetermined, and not made up as they
go along.)
