Of course, his Dad is Canadian? Actually his dad was an Islander and a Swede
and now like a multitude of former NHL players had the good fortune to be
able to become a US citizen so his son will get full sized cans of coca cola.
The fact is that like Islander mates Wayne Merrick and Garry Howatt (all now
US citizens) with sons playing or having played D1 hockey- they are proud to
be citizens of the world's greatest democracy not to mention the great
exchange rate when they go home-

given the dire straits of NHL Ottawa (this is the present capital of Canada)
and Buffalo which has always depended on Canadian/ien fans and the 3rd place
status of Tim Horton donuts (way behind Dunkin and Krispy Kreme)- will the
Canadian/ien confederation survive- will victory in the world juniors heal
the wounds and the fragile psyche of the nation- will the Quebecois feel
slighted by a lack of diversity on the Canadian/ien roster? Tune in next week
and hold on to your loonies
