Subject line says it all.
From the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, Monday, March 2, 1992. We're getting more
ink in the "People" section than on the sports page. Brackets mine.
"Merrimack College hunk [subjective] Matty Hayes, 22, may soon get a wider
audience than the folks who turn out to watch him play defense on the
varsity hockey team. Like, a national television audience.
Seems the handsome [see previous bracket :-)] junior got a call last
November from Bob Eubanks, the game show host, who flew him to Hollywood
to appear in a pilot for a proposed new show called 'Infatutations'.
Format is: you have someone you want to meet? Bob Eubanks will bring you
together on the show, sexy interplay obviously preferred.
When Matty got out there, he found out the person who wanted to meet him
was Jennifer Buck, a girl he knew in junior high when he lived in Placentia,
California. 'She even had an old hockey shirt of mine,' he says. 'It was
embarrassing'.
The two did have a date - filmed by a television crew - after their reunion,
but Matty has a girlfriend here in Massachusetts. No broadcast time has
been announced."
