PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Providence College men’s hockey team is ranked No. 
10 in the nation, according to the latest US College Hockey Online Poll and 
the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Coaches Poll released on Monday, 
January 8, 2001.
         The 11-5-3 Friars posted a 2-0-0 record last week.  On January 
6,  PC defeated UMass-Amherst, 4-0, at Schneider Arena.  On January 7, the 
Friars posted an 8-5 come-from behind win over UMass-Amherst at the Mullins 
Center in Amherst, Mass.
         Sophomore Devin Rask (Parkside, Saskatchewan) is currently leading 
the Friars in scoring with 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists).  Sophomore 
Nolan Schaefer (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) and senior Boyd Ballard 
(Weyburn, Saskatchewan) have shared the Friars’ goaltending duties.  This 
season, the duo have combined for a 2.29 goals against average and a .926 
save percentage.
         The Friars will return to action Friday, January 12, versus Iona 
at Schneider Arena at 7:00 p.m.
