Since I wrote this, I have, of course, remembered the shot off the post.
I'd been thinking of events during the latter stages of the overtime, rather
than early, which is when this was. And it was, indeed, a fine chance. I
still don't think the missed centering pass was as dangerous as others have
been recalling.
