When a team can "score at will" they are willing to engage in the
shootout throughout the game. But sometimes scoring goals are like a
miracle.. ask BU after last weekend. There is an offensive minded team
that came up with 1 goal in two games. Good defense allows a team to
steal games.
Now, what is good defense? A red hot goalie is nice but not always
available. Defensemen who know where their end of the ice is are also
nice. But the team effort does it best. This includes keeping the puck
in the offensive end as much as possible, but not getting the forwards
trapped. This even includes good forechecking.
So that's my idea of a great game. Hustling around to get the loose
pucks insead of standing around waiting for the breakaway. :-)
