For anyone interested, the informal WCHA poll on my homepage is about to
be concluded. Here are the results:
> Number of voters: 8 Possible number of points: 80 > First:
> Colorado College(5)--------> 77 Points [1-2]
> Second:
> University of Minnesota(2)---> 73 Points [1-3]
> Third:
> Univeristy of Wisconsin(1)--> 58 Points [1-8]
> Fourth:
> Denver University---------> 53 Points [3-5]
> Fifth:
> University of North Dakota-> 47 Points [3-7]
> Sixth:
> Univ. of Minn. Duluth-----> 40 Points [5-9]
> Seventh:
> St. Cloud State-----------> 33 Points [4-10]
> Eight:
> Michigan Tech Univ.-------> 28 Points [4-10]
> Nineth:
> Northern Mich. Univ.------> 21 Points [7-10]
> Tenth:
> Univ. of Alaska Anchorage-> 12 Points [9-10]
To me, the big surprise in the poll is how well UW ended up doing. Since
the Badgers had the greatest losses this year (figured out by finding out
what % of the goals were scored by seniors), I think that they will be
lucky to finish fourth. Also, UND fifth? Hehehehe...I hope so!
However, with the loss of a lot of good players last year, I don't see
that happening. I did notice that the TSN poll has them 12th, so maybe
Blais has a secret weapon.
It looks like the moral of the story for the WCHA this year is
the same as last year: UM and CC down to the wire!
