Has any NCAA team ever pulled a "Wilbur Wood"?
Okay, if you're under thirty or never collected baseball cards*,
I will enlighten you that 60's/70's Chisox hurler Wood is famous,
or infamous, or something, in any case *noteworthy* for winning and
losing 20 games, in the SAME year.
My guess is that this has been done, but only by western Div I teams in
that span of time in which teams regularly approached 40 GP, and the
o.t. had not yet been cut down to 5 minutes. (Late 70's, early 80's).
Anyway, if I don't hear back I'll hunt it down myself, tonight. Knew
that writing that Access DB would come in handy one of these days...

* Wood's bizarre records were usually good for five-bucks-at-a-clip
playground bets, back at Finley Elementary in the mid 70's.
