USM Libraries & Learning invites applicants to join our dynamic team!
The University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for the full-time
position of Library Specialist CL3 located in the Gorham Library, Bailey
Hall, Gorham Campus.

The Library Specialist is a key member of the Access Services team at the
Gorham Campus Library. The position provides a variety of services and
support including information services, circulation assistance, reference,
e-reserves, assistance with navigating academic support services, and
answering basic technology/computer questions. Excellent patron service is
required. The Library Specialist shares responsibility for training and
supervising library student assistants. The person in this position will
have the needed skills to assist with Interlibrary Loan and digital library
services and resources. This position has extensive in-person, telephone,
and online interactions with students, faculty, staff, researchers, and the
public. As a first-tier technical support person, the Library Specialist
provides assistance with equipment, software, and hardware available in the
Libraries. This position is responsible for building opening procedures.

For this Library Specialist position the starting rate of pay will be
$19.02/hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current
employee with the University of Maine System.  This position is located on
the Gorham Campus.  The schedule for this position is:  Sunday 11:30AM –
8:00PM; Monday – Thursday 7:30AM – 4:00PM.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) and one year of specialized
training or education in library related services
OR, High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) and five years of library
support experience.
