If all goes as planned, you should not notice this change over at all. We
are sending this message just as a heads up.
We are moving the master LDAP server from its current location on
NameD.its.maine.edu to a virtual machine called lv-o-ldap-m.
No-one should be connecting to the master LDAP server except our internal
sync processes, but we will be leaving it in place as a slave LDAP.
We will be re-pointing the slave LDAP servers one by one to the new master.
And changing our sync processes over as well.
If things go as planned, you should not notice the change. However, it is
possible that there may be delays of up to a few minutes in propagation of
password changes and somewhat longer delays in group membership changes.
We are starting the change over later today and hope to have it complete in
the next couple of days
