CHIEFS SCALP BLACKBEARS 5-0 !
Umass Lowell shutout the defending national champion Maine Blackbears this
afternoon by the score of 5 to 0. Goalie Dwayne Roloson proved why many are
calling him the best goalie in the country by stopping some 28 or so shots.
This is the first time Maine has been shut out since 1986 (304 games) and the
first time at Alfond Arena since 1985. The chiefs got goals from Ian Hebert,
Mike Murray, Dave Barozzino, Christian Sbrocca, and Greg Bullock. Bullock,
a freshman, is the leading freshman scorer in the country.
In the last four games, the chiefs have beat 3 top 15 teams in UNH, MAINE,
and NORTHEASTERN.
Will the R-E-S-P-E-C-T come now? We'll have to wait and see the polls.
Umass-Lowell is now 8-3-2 and has 17 days off before the RPI tourney. If Maine
loses it's 6 hockey east points vs. Providence because of Jeff Tory, the chiefs
are in first place in hockey east with a 5-2-1 record.

PS. To those who doubted, is it still too early to say we are a pretty good
hockey team? Have we still "not played anybody?" I know I'm a little
biased, but I think we deserve some credit, NOW!
PPS. Cal Ingraham was no factor whatsoever. (Obviously, since they were
shutout)
