It's the "I hate midweek home games" edition of the Hockey-L poll!
Michigan State remained the unanimous #1. North Dakota moved up to the #2 spot, despite getting a scare from CIAU power Manitoba on Sunday. Vermont moves up into the twelfth spot, knocking Denver into the "receiving votes" category. CC narrowly beat out New Hampshire for the fifth spot. The mover of the week was Western Michigan, who went from 5th to 3rd. On the bottom end, we had our first-ever votes for Quinnipiac, Miami and Michigan Tech.
There is a broad consensus on who the top 9 teams are, as only one of the top 9 teams received a vote that was lower than 9th and only one of the teams below the top 9 received a top 9 vote. Providence appeared on all ballots save one. Below that, the consensus disappeared.
The WCHA has five teams in the Top 12, the CCHA and Hockey East have three, while the ECAC has one. There were 11 votes this week, six West (2 CCHA, 4 WCHA) and five East (3 HEA, 1 ECAC, 1 MAAC).
