From the Minneapolis Star Tribune this morning:
Team USA rallied from a 4-1 deficit Thursday and stunned the Soviet Union
5-4 on Bret Hedican's game-winning goal with 6:22 left in the opener of a
pre-Olympic hockey tournament at Meribel, France, the site of the 1992
Winter Olympics in February.
Hedican, a defenseman from North St. Paul and St. Cloud State, scored
the winner on an assist from former Gopher Grant Bischoff.
Team USA trailed 3-1 after one period, with David Emma getting the lone
goal, and 4-1 early in the second. But Jimmy Johannson of Rochester, MN,
David Jensen and Scott Fusco scored, making the score 4-4. Scott Gordon
was the winning goalie for Team USA, which faces Finland on Saturday.
