UND brought its quickness to the rink on Saturday and came away with an
impressive 7-2 victory.  In the first period, UND took complete control
of the game and came away with a 5-0 lead which proved to be too much for
Tech to overcome.  For UND's Vig, the game was especially memorable since
it was his first goal in three years and his first ever playing for UND.
Schweitzer started in goal for UND and had a solid game, although the
second goal that he let in seemed to be very soft.  For Tech, David
Weninger started and did not seem to get in a grove the entire night.  He
was pulled after the first period.
 
Quick Thoughts:
UND is now 5-0-0 with Marilyn Manson played during the warm-ups :-)
 
The student section was almost full tonight, which still makes me wonder
what it will take for some people to attend the games.  It is hard to do
much better than a #2 national ranking!
 
UND picked up a five minute major for slashing the goaltender.  The call
seemed questionable to say the least.  The UND player had the puck and
was skating directly at the goalie.  I could understand calling it if he
did not have a chance of scoring, but he was in the process of getting a
goal when it was called.
 
UND now travels to NMU and will try to get a very important sweep.
