Parker also brought up the full face shield in the aftermath of the Travis
Roy incident.  He talked about it limiting players' ability to see, forcing
them to tilt their heads down more to see the puck, and there were also
discussions about the shields fogging.
 
Hard to argue those points.  The half-shield sounds like a good decision.
