When the "Great One" put on a King's jersey in 88, the WEST alone dotted the
coast with two more pro teams and a spattering of minor league teams, not to
mention Southern expansion in Florida and Dallas, etc.

I had King's season seats when Marcel Dionne led the Kings and the league in
scoring, and I was still there when "the Wayne" entered onto the ice in his
#99.

The King's franchise is desperate for a, or some player(s), to boost their
club. I'm thrilled that it's a COLLEGE hockey player who brought them to
their feet with his first goal. King's will move into new downtown digs with
soaring ticket prices soon; they'll need some "Blakean" fire power to sustain
them.

College Hockey (given more western exposure) will someday grow into western
division 1 competitors. The NHL west coast league might never have grown
without the presence of a player like Wayne. According to news sportscasters,
Wayne's exodus from Edmonton jump-started the proliferation of hockey in the
USA.
