<<The surprising thing isn't that Willie Marvin is leaving the team, but how
successful Woog has been over the years in keeping hockey players (in the
case of McALpine, it may have been keeping him from prison). There have
been many players over the years that after their sophmore seasons must
have realized they would never get much playing time, yet remain on the
team for the duration of their eligibility.

Also noted: Marvin seems to have a mature sense of priorities, and Woog
handled the situation as it came out in press very well.

I have to totally disagree. The Gophers have lost more top players early than
anyone in the country lately...if I were a player there I would be waiting for
the next one to leave early opening up a roster spot.

On a good note...kudos to Woog for writing CC's Toby Petersen a best wishes
letter over his leg injury...the first thing Woog ever did that impressed me.
