As for throwing stuff on to the ice the student section at the
University of New Hampshire throw a dead fish on to the ice after the
Wildcats score there first goal. I have never heard a warning given nor
have I seen anyone from the University try to stop this practice.
 
This brings up a couple of questions: 1) Why doesn't this practice draw
a Delay of Game penalty? 2) If the lack of a Delay of Game penalty is
due to this practice being considered a "school tradition" (at UNH, UND,
UAA or anyplace else) then can a new or existing D1 program start a
similiar tradition?
