Geez, what a question for a Maine fan. Does my pride in Hockey East override
UMaine's rivalry with BU, BC, and UNH? To some extent, yes. When BU was in
the fourth overtime against SLU, I felt that we had what business execs (or
consultants, more likely) refer to as a "win-win" situation. If BU won, then
three Hockey East teams would return to the Pfinal Pfour. On the other hand,
if SLU won, BU would lose.
On the other hand, when BC was playing Wisconsin, I had no hesitation in
rooting for BC, because I'd rather have Maine play the Eagles than the
Badgers in the championship game.
