Northern Michigan University Wildcats beat the Sioux of North Dakota
Friday evening by the score of 7-3 in front of 4266 fans at the Lakeview
Arena in Marquette.
 
The Wildcats are now 14-5-2 overall and 11-4-2 in WCHA action.

As you can see by the saves Jones had to make in the first and second
period, he had a good night.  Northern simply "pounded" him the first
period and he stood the test.  NMU looked overwhelming on the ice the
first period.  A shot which appeared to the goal judge to cross the goal
line for NMU was overturned by the ref as it was his opinion the puck
never crossed the line.  In talking to folks who sit in the section
which has a good view of the goal, they saw the puck cross the line by
about one foot.
