                                      NOTES

CCHA TV broadcasts add new wrinkles: The CCHA has embarked on new television
innovations this season. In addition to having a microphone on the referee,
some head coaches will also have a microphone and in certain situations, TV
cameras will be taken into the players dressing rooms between periods and also
the officials' room.

CCHA scoring decreases: For the 144 CCHA league games played each season
from 1986-87 through 1990-91 the average goals per game were: 1986-87--9.14,
1987-88--8.89, 1988-89--8.10, 1989-90--8.97, 1990-91--7.94. Through the first
two weekends of the 1991-92 season the average is 8.31.

CCHA time change: The February 15th (Saturday) contest featuring Miami at
Michigan will start at 5:00 p.m. and not the previously stated 7:30 p.m.

Lake Superior maintains first place standing: The Lakers have been in the
CCHA top spot since November 15, 1990. Lake Superior has a 22-0-2 mark in
CCHA league play which does not include four CCHA play-off wins last year.

Felsner reaches 100 goal plateau: University of Michigan senior forward Denny
Felsner recorded his 100th career goal last Friday in the Wolverines 5-1 win
over Western Michigan. Felsner is the fifth Michigan icer to reach the 100
career goal mark. Dave Debol (1975-78) is the Wolverine career leader with
112 goals.

Lakers spread goal scoring throughout the roster: Lake Superior tallied eight
goals each night in their home sweep of Bowling Green. For the weekend, the
16 LSSU goals were scored by 12 different players. Eighteen different Lakers
had points on the weekend, including Blaine Lacher, Saturday night's goalie,
in his first collegiate appearance. Only Mike Bachusz (Saturday only) and Tim
Hanley (both games) did not record any points in the series.

Broncos find it tough going vs. Michigan: Western Michigan is 0-13-0 in its
last 13 contests vs. the University of Michigan and 1-13-2 in the last 16
meetings since the Broncos defeated Michigan 10-0 in the third game of a best
of three series in the 1988 CCHA First Round play-offs.

CCHA Overall Plus/Minus Leaders: 1) Steve Barnes (LSSU) +9, 2) Clayton Beddoes
(LSSU) +7, 3) Jim Peters (LSSU) +7, 4) Sandy Moger (LSSU) +6, 5) Mike Morin
(LSSU) +5, 6) Mark Astley (LSSU) +4, 7) Dan Bylsma (BGSU) +4, 8) Paul
Constantin (LSSU) +4, 9) Trent Eigner (Miami) +4, 10) Jim Maher (UIC) +4.

Michigan State - all tied up: The Spartans are 1-0-2 this season with ties
coming in their last two contests (last Friday at Boston College - 2-2; and on
October 26th at Michigan - 4-4). This marks the first time ever that a
Michigan State squad had tied two successive games dating back 1922 (the first
year of hockey at Michigan State University).
