To the hockey-l community,
While at college in the early 80's, college hockey was at the center
on my sports fascination. Naturally, it helped rooting for an attending a
national champion (RPI 1984-1985). In the years that followed, I only heard
small snippets of info here and there, such as 'the team looked OK this year'
from the Alumni magazines or an *occaisional* score in USA today. Since
getting an internet account here at work, I have once again rediscovered the
passion of rooting for the Cherry & White (hopefully with a tad more maturity).
:-).

The true reason that I 'lost touch' was the ABSOLUTE LACK of any
coverage in the USA media. I honestly think that 'Joe Six Pack Sports Fan'
really does not care about one of the best team sports around. He'd rather
listen to mindless prattle like 'Give him da Rock, Bayyyybeeee! NCAA all
da way!', to quote a source of much 'March Drivel'! Of course, I see where
all this has its place, but I'd much rather see an exciting game between
BU and Lowell than a blowout featuring Duke and the School of Infirm hoopsters.

This may sound a bit bitter, but I tend to think that some or maybe
most hockey-l'ers will tend to agree.....

Looking forward to much stuff on Sportschannel this weekend (I hope)...
