        Cornell snapped a 9-game winless streak with a come-from-behind
5-3 win over SLU at Appleton Arena tonight. St. Lawrence led 3-2 after
two periods, but the Red scored two early goals to go up 4-3, weathered
consecutive SLU power plays, and hung on to win (Vinnie Auger scored an
empty-netter with just a little time left).

I didn't see the game --- just listened on the radio --- but my
impression is that Cornell's young (mostly freshman) defense is really
coming together. They looked good at Colgate last Saturday and they
sounded good tonight (despite what the CU broadcasters said about neither
team's playing particularly well defensively).
