Here is the preseason version of The College Hockey Discussion List Poll:
Teams were given 15 points for a first-place vote, 14 for a second-place
vote, and so on down to 1 point for a fifteenth-place vote. Total first-
place votes are in parentheses.
Looks like we're off to a flying start this season, as a HOCKEY-L poll-
record 24 voters sent in responses. Lake Superior, last year's NC$$ runner-
up, starts off the season in the top spot by a comfortable margin, although
the #1 votes were spread around pretty well.
Composite poll (24 responses):

The preseason poll is a little East-heavy, as only four of the 24 responses
came from Western fans. The East-West split does have an interesting look
to it, however. The Lakers picked up three of the four Western first-place
votes, yet still wound up behind Boston University in the Western poll.

I'd like to start up the regular-season version of the HOCKEY-L poll in a
couple weeks, to give more teams a chance to get out on the ice and actually
play a game or two. More on that in a week or so...
