WHO'S HOT..... Devin Rask has tallied at least one point in 12 of the 
Friars' last 17 games and has recorded a 4-4- 8 line in his last six games.

FREGOE NETS HAT TRICK... Peter Fregoe (Massena, N.Y.) tallied five points, 
including his second hat trick of the season, as the Friars took three of 
four points from Boston University on February 16-17.  On February 
16,  Fregoe assisted on Devin Rask's 17th goal of the season in PC's 4-3 
victory.  On February 17, he notched three power-play goals and added one 
assist as the Terrier and Friars skated to a 5-5 tie.  Fregoe's hat trick 
marked the first time a Friar has tallied two hat tricks in one season 
since Brady Kramer notched two during the 1994-95 season.

SCHAEFER RECORDS 11TH WIN... Nolan Schaefer (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) 
posted a 1-0-1 record in two games versus Boston University on February 
16-17.  On February 16, Schaefer earned his 11th win of the season, while 
stopping 25 shots in the Friars' 4-3 win over Boston University.  On 
February 17, the sophomore netminder recorded 20 saves in the squad's 5-5 
tie at Walter Brown Arena.  On the season, Schaefer has posted an 11-5-2 
record with a 2.18 goals aginst and a .927 goals against average

KELLY CONTINUES TO INCREASE PRODUCTION...Freshman defenseman Regan Kelly 
(Imperial, Saskatchewan) tallied one goal and two assists in the Friars' 
5-5 tie at Walter Brown Arena.  Kelly's power-play goal tied the game 1-1 
in the first period of play.  This season, Kelley has recorded four goals 
and 16 assists in 26 games.

FRIARS CAPTURE THREE POINTS...The Friars' record stands at 17-8-5 and 
11-6-3 in HOCKEY EAST play after a 4-3 win over Boston University on 
February 16, at Schneider Arena and a 5-5 tie at Walter Brown Arena on 
February 17.  On February 16, the Friars defeated Boston University, 4-3, 
at Schneider Arena.  J.J Picinic tallied the game's first goal at the 2:57 
mark of the first period.  The Terriers tied the game on Pat Aufiero's 
power-play goal at 14:32.  Doug Wright and Devin Rask tallied consecutive 
goals for PC, just 24 seconds apart to give the Friars a 3-1 lead.  The 
Terriers fought back, but Shawn Weiman's slap shot form the point with 
16:29 proved to be the game-winner for the Friars.  Nolan Schaefer stopped 
25 shots in the victory.  On February 17, Peter Fregoe paced the Friars 
with his second hat trick of the seaosn while Jay Leach added three assists 
as the Friars and the Terriers skated to a 5-5 tie.  Freshman Regan Kelly 
and senior J.J. Picinic nocthed one goal each for PC.  The Friars tallied 
four power-play goals in the contest.  Schaefer recorded 30 saves in the 
tie.  It marked the first time the Friars have recorded four power-play 
goals since their 5-1 win over Lake Superior on  October 21, 2000.

RASK LEADS THE OFFENSE... Sophomore Devin Rask (Parkside, Saskatchewan) 
tallied his team-leading 40th point (17 goals, 23 assists) in the Friars' 
5-5 tie at New Hampshire on February 17.  On February 16, Rask tallied one 
goal and one assist in the Friars' 4-3 win over Boston University at 
Schnieder Arena.  This season, the Friars are 15-3-2 when Rask tallies at 
least one point and are 2-5-3 in the games he has been held pointless.

WEIMAN NETS GAME-WINNER...On February 16, sophomore defenseman Shawn Weiman 
recorded his first career game-winning goal in the Friars' 4-3 win over 
Boston University at Schneider Arena.  Weiman also added an assist in 
the  victory.  It marked Weiman's first career multiple-point game.  This 
season, Weiman has recorded two goals and four assists in 16 games for the 
Friars.

.Next FOR the FRIARS... The Friars will travel to UMass-Lowell on February 
23 and then will host the Riverhawks on February 24.

THE PROVIDENCE/UMASS-LOWELL SERIES... Thursday's game will be the 64th 
meeting between the two schools.  Providence leads the all-time series 
31-26-6.  The two teams first met on January 27, 1982 with Providence 
defeating UMass-Lowell, 5-3, at Schneider Arena.  PC's last win against the 
River Hawks was a 2-1 victory on February 26, 2000 at Schneider Arena.  The 
Friars' last loss to UMass-Lowell was a 7-2 defeat at Schneider Arena on 
January 28, 2000.  In their last meeting the two teams skated to a 3-3 tie 
on January 27, 2001 at Tsongas Arena.

AT TSONGAS ARENA...PC has registered a 3-0-1 mark against UMass-Lowell at 
Tsongas.  In PC's three games at Tsongas Arena, the Friars earned two 5-2 
wins against the River Hawks on January 17, 1999 and February 5, 1999 and a 
5-3 win on February 25, 2000.  In their most recent meeting, the Friars and 
River Hawks skated to a 3-3 tie on January 27, 2001.

AT SCHNEIDER ARENA...PC has posted a 15-18 mark against the River Hawks at 
Schneider Arena.  In the Friars' last game against UMass-Lowell at 
Shcnieder Arena, PC defeated the River Hawks, 2-1, on February 26, 
2000.  UMass-Lowell's last win against Providence at Schnieder Arena was a 
7-2 victory on January 28, 2000.

This season VS. UMASS-LOwell...The Friars skated to a 3-3 tie at 
UMass-Lowell on January 27.  Drew Omicioli paced the Friars' offense with 
one goal and two assists.  Peter Zingoni recorded his first collegiate goal 
and dished out one assist.  Senior Heath Gordon tallied the game-tying 
goal.  Boyd Ballard  stopped 31 shots for the Friars.ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿe
