There will be no week in between.  The way hockey calculates when the
championship should be held and the way basketball calculates it are slightly
different.  Therefore, the hockey season was to have ended a week later than
the basketball season for the next two years regardless.
 
They won't start shifting it until 2000 because it isn't necessary to
artificially shift it until then.
