Kevin Hoogstein scored two goals for UND as the Sioux extended their
unbeaten mark to 5-0. Despite the low score of this game, if it had not
been for the incredible saves of Kochan for Minnesota Duluth, the game
would have been out of reach after the first period.

Few thoughts:
UND outshot UMD by close to a two to one margin. After the second, the
shots were 15 to 29 (the final total was not given at the game).

Aaron Vickar was the goalie for UND. He had his best performance since
joining the Sioux. So, the big question is: who is the starting goalie
for UND? After last night, Kvalevog's return MAY be in doubt.

UND had their best defensive game of the year at home, IMHO. Both of
UMD's goals were legitimate and not due to break-down's by the Sioux.

The Bulldogs gave UND an incredible number of odd-man rushes, but UND was
unable to captialize. The first period seemed to be the worst, were it
seemed that UND would always get the puck down to UMD's end and then
either a)not complete the play or b)Kochan made a great save.

Blais switched some of the lines which appeared to add to the Sioux's
confusion in the first period.

The two teams meet again at 7:30 in Grand Forks tonight.
