John Whelan correctly reported what the Los Angeles Times had listed on "The
Day in Sports" page. However, in defense of the Times (oh, no!!!!), they
did have this "lengthy" article on BU's victory on page C7:

Steve Thornton's goal began a scoring spree that gave
Boston University its first NCAA hockey championship
in 17 years with a 6-2 victory over Maine in Providence,
        R.I.

Meanwhile, Monday's Times posted the score again, this time listing
Boston U. as the championship team and actually noting "corrected team"
in parentheses. IMHO, this is a *major* step for The Times.

Hopefully, by the time it's "Ana - HEIM in '99" (thanks, Tony, for our
slogan), the Orange County Register will do a good job covering the
Phinal Phour. As far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out on The Times.
