Sorry, you'll have to excuse me, I'm a little hoarse. Give me two or three
days of not having to yell and my voice will be back to normal.

Very, VERY reminiscent of the game these two played at Munn in last year's
NCAA quarterfinals. Had the exact same feel to it.

A few notes- Yes, Morrison was in the crease on Knuble's game-tying shot with
1 to 2 seconds to go (clock stopped at 0.4 seconds). Trczinski's game winner
didn't appear to be hit in with a high stick (noting the rule that was quoted
earlier) since the puck appeared (from my vantage point) to go UP once it hit
his stick and still got in under the crossbar.

MSU came out firing and held BG to almost no offense in the first ten to fifteenminutes, then retreated into a shell and managed (somehow) to pull this one off
in overtime. This game lacked what the first game had: a power play from eitheror both sides that was always a threat to score. BG's power play at times was
particularly listless.

As much as I have criticized Matt Shegos in the past, he called a fairly decent
game. That is, all except once. I've seen some of the comments here about
Eldred's high stick on Keyes at the end of the first, but IMO that should have
been at least a five. If MSU gets a five-minute power play to begin the
second, this game never goes to overtime. While many of the BG faithful did
not particularly care for the hook call against Johnson in the last minute of
the third, I felt Shegos had no choice, especially since Johnson's stick was
stretching Sylvester's jersey to the limit.

Most of you saw the game on TV, so I won't add too many comments. While Buzak
was on the All-Tournament Team as the goaltender, he made two key errors in the
third that cost MSU the game. First was not covering the puck at the side of
the net on Felsner's tiebreaker, and then completely losing sight of the puck
on LaViolette's game-winner. MSU once again retreated into a shell after buil-
ding a 2-0 lead early in the second and allowed LSSU to dominate the play
through the second and third periods, a mistake the Spartans will not be able
to afford come Friday in Madison against Wisconsin.

(OK, I'll be the first complainer. Even though we got into the tournament, we
got SCREWED. [Hold the flames.] Having to play UW in Madison, followed by, if
we're lucky enough to win, having to play Michigan, AGAIN. Gee, thanks.)

Anybody have the boxscore from the WCHA Final handy? I need the number of
penalty minutes.
