The suggestion that Providence is gang ridden and dangerous is utter fiction.
While I confess that I've never been to the Providence College rink, the area a
round the Meehan is as secure as any neighborhood gets, and the civic center is
equally safe. If this is what people believe then they are mistaken, and shou
ld come give Providence a try--it's come a long way since the 70's.
Anyway, Brown fans are very loyal in general, there just aren't many hockey/spo
rts fans at Brown. Sometimes, school spirit is sacrificed to individuality--a
price I am willing to pay.
A quick congratulations to Princeton--they played a great series and deserved i
t. Sophomre Brown goalie Brian Audette is a hero for every Brown fan, and I ho
pe he realizes how much we all appreciate his remarkable effort. It may not ha
ve worked out this time, but he held Princeton scoreles for alomst 60 minutes o
f some of the tensest hockey I've ever seen. He'll be back.
