BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY -- The Falcons' seven member sophomore class is
not suffering through any second year jinx.  They have combined for 57 goals
and 129 assists for 186 points with a combined plus/minus rating of +93.  They
have scored 37% of BG's goals, had 51% of the assists and 46% of the points.
All seven skaters have positive plus/minus ratings.
 
FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY -- Freshman netminder Jeff Blashill has a 3-0-2 record
in his last six appearances with a 2.32 goals-against average and a .919 saves
percentage.  He has stopped 158 of 172 shots, while allowing 14 goals in 361:35
minutes of action.
 
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO -- Junior defenseman Matt Brenner has 14
points this year on seven goals and seven assists and is tied-for-fourth on the
team with a plus/minus rating of +6.  His seven goals nearly doubles his two-
year (freshman and sophomore) total of four, while he is one point shy of his
season best 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) set during the 1992-93 campaign.
 
LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY -- Freshman center Terry Marchant has two goals
and two assists in his last four games, while recording a plus/minus rating of
+6.  The Lakers are above .500 for the first time since they were 2-1-1 to
start November.  LSSU is 8-4-2 since December 8th.
 
MIAMI UNIVERSITY -- Senior center Andrew Miller recorded his 10th multiple-
point game of the year in Friday's win.  In the last nine games, he has six
goals and four assists for 10 points with a plus/minus rating of +4 with a
power play goal, a shorthanded goal and a game-winning goal.
 
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN -- Senior blueliner Tim Hogan is tied for the team lead
with a plus/minus rating of +22.  He has been minus four times this season.
Hogan has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) this year and is two points shy of
his single season best of 12 points (2-10) set last season.  The Wolverines can
clinch home ice either with a loss on Tuesday by Illinois @ Chicago or if the
Flames do not sweep Michigan this weekend in Chicago.
 
MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY -- Junior defenseman Chris Smith has two goals and
two assists in the last three games with both goals coming with the man-
advantage and one lamp-lighter being a game- winning goal.  After scoring 23
points (10-13) his first two years combined, Smith has nine goals and 16
assists for 25 points this season.
 
UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME -- Junior center Jamie Ling is nearing the scoring
totals of his first two years in South Bend.  As a freshman he had 14 goals and
26 assists for 40 points, while last season he had 13 goals and 26 assists for
39 points.  Heading into this weekend's home series against Ohio State, Ling
has 11 goals and 25 assists for 36 points.
 
OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior right wing Sacha Guilbault continued his point-
a-game scoring pace with a goal and an assist in Saturday's contest (the
Buckeyes were shutout on Friday).  Despite playing in only 18 games this year,
he is one point shy of his season best of 21 points (10-11) set during the 1992-
93 season.  This year, Guilbault has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points.
The most assists he has had in one season.
 
WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY -- Junior left wing Derek Innanen had an assist
each night to surpass his previous single season best of 11 assists.  This
year, he has seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points.
 
UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA FAIRBANKS -- Junior defenseman Dallas Ferguson had a goal
in Friday's loss at Bowling Green to snap an 11-game streak without a goal.
Last year in the Nanooks high-powered offense, Ferguson recorded six goals and
31 assists, while this season he has three goals and 14 assists.
 
CCHA - DID YOU KNOW? -- That Lake Superior won its three NCAA titles in Olympic
years (1988, 1992 and 1994).
 
CCHA AWARDS BANQUET-- The annual CCHA Awards Banquet will be held on Friday,
March 17th in the Columbus Grand Ballroom of the Westin Hotel in downtown
Detroit.  Tickets ($23.00 each) will be available for sale in the league office
later this month with a limited number available at the door the night of the
banquet.  Social hour begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and the program.
