MICHIGAN AND FERRIS STATE EACH WIN TWICE
EIGHT LEAGUE GAMES CONCLUDE MONTH OF JANUARY
 
ANN ARBOR -- Michigan moved to within one point of first place by defeating
Bowling Green and Notre Dame.  Michigan State beat Notre Dame and lost at
Bowling Green, while Ferris State swept Western Michigan.  Illinois @ Chicago
split with Ohio State, while Miami took three of four points from Lake Superior
with a tie and a win.  In non-league action, Alaska Fairbanks was swept by
Hockey East member Merrimack.  Mid-week play saw Western Michigan down Notre
Dame.
 
Michigan entertains Western Michigan on Friday and Illinois @ Chicago on
Saturday (2:30) in the Prime College Hockey Game of the Week.  Miami and Notre
Dame make a northern road trip playing at Ferris State and Lake Superior on
opposite nights.  Bowling Green plays one game hosting Illinois @ Chicago on
Friday night, while the Broncos of Western Michigan play host to Michigan State
on Saturday.  In non-league action, Ohio State visits CCHA affiliate Alaska
Fairbanks for two games.
