Sounds like someone out there is reading HOCKEY-L!  That system was
suggested on this list about a week ago.
 
From the Providence Journal:
   The changes were announced this week by league commissioner Robert M.
DeGregorio "to clearly define the differences between a win, a tie, and a
shootout win." ... "because a tie and a shootout win cannot have more
weight than an actual win.  That's why we've gone to the change."
 
Sounds like the same logic voiced here last week...
