Here's another look at the CCHA players including +/-, for those who are
interested.  This is gleaned from the list of CCHA scoring leaders, so Bobby
Marshall's [D, Miami] stats aren't included.  Marshall is an assist man, not
a goal scorer, and was the 1992-93 CCHA Defensive Defenseman of the Year.
 
Gruden's +/- is misleading in the sense that Fairbanks, Michigan and
Michigan State are all 9 or more games above .500 and Ferris is 9 games
below .500.  Gruden logs a lot of minutes for the Bulldogs, so his -8 isn't
hard to understand.  Although certainly more noted for his offensive skills,
Gruden has impressed me with his defense as well in the limited time that
I've seen him this year.
