And not un-coincidentally (?), the Crimson have traditionally
struggled at the Garden, both in the Beanpot and in the ECACs.
Don't underestimate this factor. That's why I believe Northeastern
has a chance to beat Maine.

I think you are thinking of the 1983-84 RPI team which lost three
games in the ECAC and six overall (32-6). The 1984-85 team (35-2-1)
lost its two games to SLU and North Dakota, back-to-back early in the
season. RPI then went on a 38-game unbeaten streak (36-0-2) that wasn't
broken until the next season with an 8-5 loss at Yale. The ties were with
Lake Superior in the 1985 NCAAs, 3-3, and Clarkson, 1-1 at Walker, early
in 85-86.
