Found it! For those who are curious the author is F. Day Holman and the title is, Ballad of Capers and Actions.

Subject: poem about Maine

Hello librarians 😊

Help! I don’t have an author or title but perhaps a line from a poem about Maine, “Some few things we do, do well” might spark someone’s memory. The premise of the poem is along the lines of a traveling salesman from the “big city” staying at a local Maine Inn. The salesman is struggling with the Maine way of life. Any leads would be helpful. Thanks a million in advance.
