I heard this while I was traveling this week and the first thing I
thought about was the timing was very poor. I see no reason why this
could not have been announced after the Hockey East Tourney or at least
after last nights' award banquet. There were a couple of Northeastern
Players who were honored and should have been able to appreciate the
night with their coach and not have his firing disrupt the moment.

My $.02

Mark

Subject: Crowder Out at Northeastern

BOSTON (AP) -- Northeastern will not renew the contract of hockey coach
Bruce Crowder, athletic director Dave O'Brien announced Wednesday.
The school will begin searching for a successor immediately.
Crowder, a former Boston Bruin and Pittsburgh Penguin, went 15-18-5 with
the Huskies this season to bring his nine-year record to 120-170-36. He
is a three-time Hockey East coach of the year, twice at UMass-Lowell and
once at Northeastern.
In 1996, with UMass-Lowell, he was the national coach of the year.
