This was also reported on USCHO (where Lee got into details about what
happened to cause both zambonis to break down: fire and spilling antifreeze).
It turned out that I picked this very same Sunday as my first day to lace up
the skates and play ice hockey (that goalie shoot the length of the ice
contest in Placid really didn't count). I went to the Bright rink at 5pm on
Sunday only to find out that my ability to play was also prevented by the ice
problems.
When I got to the rink at 4:50pm, the lights were dimmed in the rink and
about a 1/3 of the ice had been resurfaced (this was probably a remnant of
the work of the 2nd zamboni before it started spilling antifreeze).
