Chris Lerch sent this list of ACHA tournament teams:
1. Iowa State
2. Penn State
3. Michigan-Dearborn
4. Ohio University
5. Delaware
6. Arizona
7. Towson University
8. Illinois
9. Eastern Michigan
10. Western Michigan
I wonder which of these could be pursuaded/pushed/bribed into going DI so that
the NCAA does not question the sport's growth next time it considers a 16-team
tournament. In the 80's Michigan-Dearborn had an intercollegiate team (D1?).
Iowa State, Penn State, and Illinois might go if this stupid-assed idea of a
Big 10 hockey conference gets going (did you hear the joke that the President
hired an economist from one of the Big 10 schools to balance the budget). Can
you imagine the head gear if Michigan played Deleware? And I wonder if Towson
(State) University could be the first school to win Lacrosse and Hockey titles
in the same year. If I was a betting man, I would bet Western Michigan would
be the most likely to go D1. They'd be called the Broncos.
