Dan is(was) a member of the Eastern Junior Hockey League's (US Junior
A) Junior Whalers (formerly known as the Springfield Pics, but that's
another story). He was an incredibly prolific scorer for Natick High School
as a Sophomore, but spent his remaining two years of HS attending South
Hadley High ( he lived with the family of a Whaler teammate) but playing for
the Junior Whalers, who,as they almost always do, won the league and ( I
think) the playoffs. He was among the scoring leaders both years. He played
on the World Junior team coached by Jack Parker and was ranked #38, second
only to Poti among players playing in US preps, high schools or juniors, by
the Centrla Scouting Bureau at mid-season. But maybe you knew all that- it
was just too many times seeing him listed as South Hadley High...
