Before the rumor mill starts...

Buffalo is placing a bid to host the 2000, 2001, or 2002 NCAA hockey
championships. Site would be the new Marine Midland Arena, a new,
down-town, state-of-the-art hockey palace which will become the home
of the Buffalo Sabres and the Canisius basketball team this fall.
Hosts would be Canisius and Niagara. The bid presentation will be
made next month by the commissioner of the Metro Atlantic Athletic
Conference (MAAC) and the head of the MM Arena, with support from
the City of Buffalo, coach Brian Cavanaugh of Canisius, and coach
Blaise McDonald of Niagara.

If it happens, I promise to buy a half-dozen buckets of wings for the
hockey-l'ers who attend...!
