A couple of quick administrative notes:

1. Recently, an article was posted to both the HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L
lists. The administrators of these lists (Deron Treadwell for INFO-HOCKEY-L
and myself for HOCKEY-L) ask that this not be done. Note the following
excerpt from the welcome message that new subscribers get upon signing up
for either of these lists:

>E. How to Submit an Article to the College Hockey Lists.
> -----------------------------------------------------
...
>Do NOT send a posting to more than one list. Choose the best list
>for your article and send it to that one. The only exception to this
>is that some topics may be of interest to both HOCKEY-L (or
>INFO-HOCKEY-L) and HOCKEY3 readers. For example, a coaching position
>availability announcement is probably of interest to both HOCKEY3 and
>HOCKEY-L (or INFO-HOCKEY-L).
>
>IMPORTANT: Never post to HOCKEY-L *and* INFO-HOCKEY-L!
>
>Your cooperation will result in an enjoyable list environment for you
>and the other list subscribers, not to mention the list administrator(s)!

HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L are not meant to overlap; INFO-HOCKEY-L is meant to
provide information about college hockey (final game scores, press releases,
box scores, etc.) while HOCKEY-L is meant for discussion of college hockey.
Many people are subscribed to both HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L and would thus
get two copies of any message that is posted to both lists. There are also a
number of people subscribed to the digest version of the list, HOCKEY-D. This
is a compendium of postings to both HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L, and so again,
these people would see the message twice. Two copies would also appear in the
list archives. An annoyance, not to mention a waste of bandwidth.

By the way, if you are subscribed to HOCKEY-L and wish to subscribe to INFO-
HOCKEY-L, send a message to [log in to unmask] (NOT the list!) and in
the body of the message, put

subscribe INFO-HOCKEY-L your-full-name

2. Several postings during a recent discussion on HOCKEY-L consisted of an
entire previously posted HOCKEY-L article followed by a few lines in reply.
When replying to a HOCKEY-L post, please include only the relevant parts of
the post that you are replying to. It is rarely necessary to quote an entire
posting, and to do so unnecessarily is again a waste of bandwidth.

Thank you. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact
me.
