I think that this discussion of arena's has left off one rink that while it
lacks a bell or whistle, certainly makes life very hard on the visitors.
Lynah rink has a crowd that can verbally intimidate just about anyone, and
generally succeeds in getting to the oppsoing goalie if not the entire
opposing team.

Although, I have heard that Vermont's arena is comaparable, I've
never been there to confirm. Cheel, as everyone has been saying is not a
very horrible place to play in. I, personally, found "The Bell" extremely
annoying when I visited for the Cornell-Clarkson playoff series last year,
and the whistle is similarly bothersome. The arena, on the whole, though
is just too pretty for a hockey rink, and way too spacious. As a result,
even with the two bands there for the game, there was almost no sound to be
heard. As far as the other ECAC buildings I've been to, Colgate makes some
noise, but not a lot, and Union's Achilles Rink is extremely quiet,
although some of that could have been due to a somewhat smaller than normal
crowd. On the whole though, the Lynah faithful make every game a misery
for the opponent.
