I got a plea to "help put a champion in a Golden Gopher uniform" ("Make a gift
today - a champion tomorrow.") in the mail from the Williams Scholarship Fund
today.  It lists these expenses for the Gopher hockey team:
     1994-95 travel budget              $90,000
     Cost of each player's uniform       $1,449
         & equipment
     Total cost of hockey scholarships $135,000
 
Thought this might be of interest to some, in view of the late-summer/early-fall
thread about the costs of a Div I program.  Of course, the Gophs' scholarship
costs should be lower than some, and I imagine the WCHA has the highest travel
costs.  (The Gophs actually FLEW to Grand Forks this weekend.)
