I have to agree that the Wildcats are definitely making a name for
themselves right now. I was a little skeptical after they built up
a good record vs. independents and non-Hockey East teams, then began
league play by losing low-scoring games to Merrimack and Northeastern.
But lately they have been playing some tremendous hockey. I watched
both games on tv this weekend, and I was very impressed with the
solid team play they showed (also in last weekend's 6-3 win over
    Merrimack).

This gives Hockey East five teams worthy of being ranked among the
best in the nation right now - BU, BC, Maine, PC, UNH. Not just
    by their records, either.

Defense has been a key. They almost completely shut down Juneau
(although I had heard that he was sick all week with the flu,
hadn't practiced and was questionable for Friday's game). They
are also very quick going from defense to offense and everybody's
helping out in their own end. Can't forget goalie, either - both
Morrison and Levy are among the national leaders in GAA (Levy was just
outside the top 10 that was posted).

Ron Pascucci; his dad coached my high school team to our first & only
league championship in 1985. That was his first collegiate goal
although he played all last year as a freshman. Not a bad player.

The BC players were Matt Glennon (sr. C) and Joe Cleary (jr. D); both
missed the Merrimack game with the mandatory NCAA one-game suspension
and will miss the Maine game with the additional game tacked on by
    Hockey East.

As for the misconducts, Heinze got his for telling Fowkes to "get the
f*** out of the way" while trying to clear the puck up the boards.
I don't know about Pascucci, but he probably used some of the same
    language in arguing Heinze's 10.
