My first instinct was to ignore this post but for whatever reason I feel
the need to respond. Maybe I am just overreacting. I hope Larry0405
was not implying that Maine is the "good guys" and therefore BU is the
"bad guys." Why do some people feel the need to bash a team or school?
The fact is Maine won the game on the ice but I think it would have been
more appropriate to simply acknowledge that Maine outplayed BU yesterday
in an exciting college hockey game. BU did not play that well but
perhaps had there not been injuries to two of BU's top defensemen and a
game DQ of one of its forwards (he probably got what he deserved for his
actions although it probably was not unprovoked by the Maine player) the
game would have been won by BU. Obviously there were a number of
officiating miscues that favored one team or the other...not only in
this game but it sounds like in most of the tournament games thus
far...BOTH teams had officiating mistakes to "overcome." Nevertheless,
the game has been played and the result accepted without any whining or
sulking. Both teams should be proud of their seasons. I am happy for
Maine as they had a tough season losing coach Walsh. He was a great
coach and he will be missed. Good luck to them in the rest of the
tournament. Let us also not forget BU lost a member of its extended
hockey family as well last September. I am sure they were playing just
as hard to win one for the Bavis family. Unfortunately, these games
have to have a winner and a loser.

And yes...the BU basketball team DID make the basketball tournament.
They should be proud of their season as well having won 22 games. If
you were familiar with this year's team you would realize they are
capable of playng quality basketball.
